Ari nodded, “I agree, Valentine is a smart man,” she replied, vaguely wondering just how many people Valentine trusted in the first place. If Luke was right, he would only have a small circle of people he opened his heart up to and it would be relatively easy for him to flush out a betrayer if that happened. She could see that Luke himself was pretty passionate about everything too – it was actually quite touching. Ironically, Ari had always liked loyal types, perhaps because of her history as a leader.
“Great!” She exclaimed perkily, removing one of her golden bangles and offering it to him. “Your VIP invitation. Dates and details are automatically engraved in it when I decide on them. If you need a lift, just call me,” she explained easily. Okay, she’d really only said it was a gathering so that she wouldn’t scare him off; her “gatherings” tended to be rather wild, but shadowhunters weren’t taboo – in fact, she had a few regular attendees too.
Ari really hoped that she’d be able to help him with all this stuff and lighten the burden with werewolf stuff. There would probably be other people who had turned to werewolves attending and they could help him with the change at the full moon – better than she could in any case.
“Sometimes you have to learn to grab the bull by its horns – or the wolf by its claws, in this case,” she suggested with a hint of a smile on her face, “embrace the other side of you, learn about it and then control it. That’s the essence of taming a beast – not saying that you’re one though,” she added quickly. Someone as nice as he was couldn’t be a beast – not in the least sense. She thought about it for a while; would it benefit him to tell others about it? “What exactly is the Circle’s stance on downworlders?” Ari asked, deciding to establish that before suggesting things for him to do.
