Oh yes, this was the life that she had been missing. It was now 1907, her twelfth year in Paris, the beautiful, lively city that she now called her home outside of Idris. Her large penthouse apartment was modern, decorated in shades of white, gold and black, with weapons carefully polished and placed around the house as decorations. Those happened to be sharp though, as she’d always been taught to keep them sharp no matter what. Ari wasn’t a warrior anymore, but some things just stuck.
It was a beautiful summer evening and the sun was setting on the horizon, casting a deep orange glow on the sky and shining through the foliage. She could hear the crackling of a nearby grill over the murmurs of people talking. There were no vampires here yet, unfortunately, as it was still light but she was expecting them to join the grill party soon. Some fey and werewolves were already here, along with a few odd warlocks and other creatures that one tended to find. This was a secluded area of the park and few – if any – humans would ever know or dare to venture in here.
Downworlders though, were completely welcome. The invitation had been passed around and if her information sources were correct, the news had spread like wildfire – and was still spreading. It was free food, drinks and alcohol, who would resist?
Ari herself was lounging on a white leather chaise longue with gold lining, watching the party through sunglasses, a small smile on her face. Today her hair was black, cascading in voluptuous curls down to her waist. White feather earrings dangled from her ears and she was wearing a golden necklace with a diamond hanging from it. More golden bangles adorned her slim wrists and her feet was dressed in sandals – black instead of golden, but it was easy to see that Ari adored her gold and diamonds. She was wearing a white tunic that greatly resembled what she used to wear in the early days when she was at home and didn’t have to go to battle; albeit a lot shorter and the top showing a little more of her chest. The outfit was suggestive but nothing sensitive could be seen. The color emphasized the olive tone of her skin, making it seem like she had more of a tan than she did normally. Lined – as usual – in gold, she really looked like a true Greek princess today.
A small dog was sitting on her middle, golden fur preened until it was silky and a black bowtie around his neck. Sniffing the air, he trotted up her chest, nosing her chin until she grinned and tapped him on the head. “Mornin’, warrior, you hungry already?” Ari asked in English as he licked her chin. That was probably a yes. “Mmm, that meat does smell good, doesn’t it?” She cooed.
