Maybe it was slightly redundant heading to the party district all on your lonesome, but eh, Jace had no idea where everyone was, and he wanted out of the house. It made more sense to come down here than to say, the shopping district or something, even if it was full of Clave members. Jace knew how to hide himself if needed, and his family kept up a decent front for the most part anyway. And heck, he was reckless, everyone knew it. So why fight it? It was still early evening, so the revellers were still yet to hit the streets in their masses, but this was when you caught people at their best. Jace stood in the shadows of a street corner, just watching for now, as young shadowhunter girls and nephilim boys dashed around town in their flimsy outfits, waiting on dates and friends and fussing over this and that. He sniggered under his breathe as a girl who couldn't have been much older than his own sister dashed past in heels far too big for her and tripped, nearly landing face first in the street. She cursed under her breath as she managed to grab onto a window ledge to keep herself upright, her face beetroot red with embarrassment as she glanced around to see if anyone had noticed, and off she tottered once more, her heels click clacking on the cobble stones as she went. It worried Jace that his sister might one day soon be like this girl, but he pushed the thoughts away. No Herondale would ever embarrass themselves like that, not in such a ridiculous way. They'd at least learn to walk in the stupid shoes first. Not that Jace had any idea what walking in heels was like, but he could imagine...he'd seen Iz do it for the past who knows how many years, and she's never looked as stupid as the girl who had just walked away.
